  • An NBHWC-certified coach has demonstrated mastery of evidence-based practices, undergone rigorous training, and proven their ability to apply health science knowledge effectively. This certification ensures you're working with a professional who has met the highest standards in the industry and is equipped to provide comprehensive, science-backed guidance for your health goals.

What Are I/O and Occupational Health Psychology?

The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) certification is the gold standard for health and wellness coaches. It represents the highest level of professional recognition in the field, developed in collaboration with the National Board of Medical Examiners

  • I/O Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior in the workplace. It focuses on applying psychological principles to improve individual and organizational effectiveness, addressing issues like employee selection, training, performance management, and organizational development.

  • focuses on understanding how work affects people's health and well-being. It looks at the challenges employees face in their jobs and aims to create healthier work environments. By combining insights from psychology, public health, and workplace safety, OHP helps organizations support their employees' mental and physical health, ultimately leading to a more productive and satisfied workforce.

  • OHP is considered a subfield of I/O Psychology. While I/O Psychology broadly addresses workplace behavior and organizational effectiveness, OHP specifically focuses on the impact of work on employee health and well-being.

  • My expertise integrates organizational effectiveness, employee well-being, and evidence-based health coaching. This allows me to address workplace stress and burnout from both organizational and individual health perspectives, creating comprehensive solutions.

  • I use I/O Psychology to help leaders optimize their work environments, improve team dynamics, and enhance organizational processes. This includes developing effective leadership strategies and creating systems that boost both productivity and employee satisfaction.

  • My OHP expertise allows me to identify and address workplace factors that contribute to stress and burnout. I help executives create healthier work environments that promote both individual well-being and organizational success.

  • My NBHWC certification provides me with evidence-based health coaching skills. This allows me to effectively guide individuals in making sustainable health behavior changes, which complements the organizational-level strategies from I/O and OHP.

  • When addressing workplace stress and burnout, I examine organizational factors like workload distribution and leadership styles (I/O and OHP), while also providing personalized strategies for stress management and health improvement (NBHWC). This comprehensive approach addresses both individual and systemic issues.
