Curious Why…

Why focus on leaders?

I have more experience working with lawyers, accountants, and other personal service providers, government officials, government contractors, and security professionals.

I also have extensive experience working with (and as) actors and journalists.

I have some experience with the retail and hospitality sectors.

If you think I can be of support, feel free to schedule.

Leaders have an outsized impact on the company: clients/customers, employees, vendors…

Leaders don't work in isolation. Their decisions, behavior, and communication shape the experience and performance of the people around them. We focus on leaders because developing one person can create change across an entire organization.

We focus on leaders to have a wider, deeper impact.

In this instance, a leader is anyone who is or strives to be in a position of authority in an organization. For example: CEO, owner, founder, senior executives, mid-level managers, team leads, folks who run their own books of business, and employees deemed “emerging leader,” such as senior associates.

My definition of the act of leadership comes from Frances Frei at Harvard Business School: A leader is someone who makes someone better in their absence.

In the case of this coaching service, I am using the word "leader” the way management folks do for clarity in the market and SEO needs.

Testimonials

  • Lisa E., Business Development Director, accounting firm (Virginia and Maryland)

Dr. Rachel and I met through networking, and after speaking with her and learning about her business and her focus on helping clients, I immediately knew she would be a great fit to bring to my firm to speak with my colleagues and a small group of women business professionals.

Dr. Rachel presented on Leading in the Age of Relentless Demands, which I think most business professionals could use! The tools we learned to help slow down and use when feeling overwhelmed in this fast-paced, technology-driven world were great. I have already started to be the "captain of my ship" - Thank you, Dr. Rachel.

  • Amy G., CEO, Economic Development Corporation (Maryland)

Working with Dr. Rachel was a wonderful experience. She came prepared to every session and offered thoughtful, steady support.

Her work meaningfully strengthened team cohesion and contributed to a more positive workplace culture. Highly recommend.

  • Lindsey P, CEO, Individual & Business Insurance Company (Maryland)

Dr. Rachel completed a group coaching session with our team related to stress and change management during a year end workshop. The team was thoroughly impressed by her professionalism and relatability.

They really enjoyed the work she did with us and walked away talking about items they are going to implement in their daily lives.

  • Michelle S., CEO, Aviation CyberSecurity Firm (Washington)

I had the privilege of working with Rachel as my executive coach for a year, and I can honestly say her impact on my leadership and overall mindset has been profound. Rachel has a rare ability to offer fresh, insightful perspectives that helped me re-envision whatever challenge I was facing—whether it was a complex team dynamic, a strategic decision, or a period of intense change. Instead of simply giving advice, she asked the right questions, challenged my assumptions, and opened up new ways of thinking that I wouldn’t have reached on my own.

One of the things I value most about Rachel is that she didn’t just coach me through the hard moments; she also refused to let me minimize the things I was doing well. She regularly reminded me of the positive stress responses I was exhibiting and highlighted the strong leadership I was demonstrating with my teams during tough times. That combination of support, accountability, and recognition helped me lead with more confidence, resilience, and clarity.

If you’re looking for an executive coach who will both stretch your thinking and make sure you don’t overlook your own strengths, I highly recommend working with Rachel. She is thoughtful, skilled, and deeply committed to her clients’ growth, and I’m grateful for the lasting impact she’s had on my leadership and career.

  • Nikki R., CPA (Minnesota)

I've worked with Dr. Rachel Boehm, Ph.D. for almost two years on burnout. I struggle with it frequently and it's a complete mindset change to make sure you are prioritizing your mental health when you are an achiever who wants to just keep pushing.

But constant pushing actually sets you back if you aren't taking the time to recharge, reflect, and realize your worth isn't tied to your hussle…  a lot of people have asked me about it when I tell them I work with a burnout coach. It's not as well-known as a biz/life coach, but it's helped me more over the past year, there's no way I would have survived last year without you!
