Is Energy the Key to Anti-Aging Skin?

Skin Aging Energy.png
“Everything is energy” ~ Albert Einstein
Einstein might not have had lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, and other signs of skin aging on his mind when he said this. But, his observation applies nonetheless. At least according to growing clinical research.
Before I lose you, I promise we aren’t getting too in the weeds (I’ll list below where you can do that). But it is important to know that I’m not pulling this out of thin air because boosting your skin’s energy to reduce signs of aging may sound a little woo woo. Or, like a product gimmick.
Woo woo and gimmicks exist but so does the research!

  • One of the long-held theories on aging relates to mitochondria.
  • Mitochondria are your cells’ powerhouse.
  • They decline in power, so to speak, age you age.
  • This leads to harmful free radicals.
  • Damaged mitochondria and harmful free radicals lead to signs of aging.
  • The damage comes from age/time iitself.
  • The damage also comes from UV and other environmental exposures (why we should all be better about sun protection).
  • The damage basically means a loss of energy in skin cells (among other areas of the body).
  • Loss of energy means decreased skin cell turnover and other actions to get rid of old/dead/damaged skin and replenish with new/healthy skin.
  • This is why you see the signs of aging,
  • If researchers can boost the skin’s energy, they could improve the signs of aging.
Ok, still with me? Great! Grab a coffee if you need to, because we’re on to the good stuff! How the hell do you boost skin energy?!
Thankfully for all of us, I am not in charge of figuring that out. Researchers have been looking at this for some time, though, and one research team in particular had a major breakthrough.

𝗪𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝗪𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝗪: 𝐇𝐎𝗪 𝐃𝐎 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑

The R&D team with Rodan+Fields spent 4 years researching ingredients with partners around the world, including Brazil, Japan, Germany, and the Arctic Circle.
Their paper covering their discovery and clinical trials on 400 individuals across the globe publishes in a few months in the Journal of Clinical and Investigative Dermatology. (𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝟽𝟺 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴!)
The serum that is the result of their research is available now, having launched to the public Oct 1, 2021!
Skin needs energy to act, look, and feel its best. It loses it as we age. The R+F TriEnergy Complex energizes surface skin cells 200 percent through its topical application!  The RF3 Antioxidant Complex fortifies and defends the skin to boost its resilience.
From the 16-week U.S. clinical and consumer study:
  • 82% had instantly pumper and smoother looking skin
  • 86% had fewer fine lines after 4 weeks
  • 81% had stronger, more resilient skin after 8 weeks.
The results were even more prominent when used with the daily skin regimens appropriate for their daily concerns!

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐅 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈-𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆:

  • Sun protection is every dermatologists first piece of advice for protecting the health and appearance of your skin.
  • Stress management and diet are also important. The mind-body connection is real, and it does play into your appearance.
  • BUT you need topical interventions as well. This goes for dry skin as much as lines/wrinkles/etc.
  • Annoyingly, products can market themselves as having ingredients even when there is only a trace amount in them. This is a difference between premium and non-premium skincare products.
  • You need the right ingredients, in the right formulation, applied in the right order to get demonstrable results.
  • What’s the point of a 5-min routine if it doesn’t do anything, right?
