Sunday Duo: The Top Two from the Wellness-verse this week are:
Here are the two “Bests” of what I’ve read/watched/heard this week in the field of wellness, to help you stop surviving and start thriving.
I filter, so you don’t have to. Need help applying this info? Drop me a line!
Taking a slightly different approach with this one, as it’s the start of a new year, a time when many are making health and fitness-related resolutions.
1. A Simple Diet and Workout Routine Helped This Guy Lose 120 Pounds in One Year:
“...his acid reflux, heartburn, and back pain disappeared; his sleep improved; even his hair got healthier. Without his usual diet of junk food, he started to taste what he ate. He could wear clothes that hadn’t fit him for years, and he saw definition slowly develop in his muscles.
He also felt happier and more confident.”
I absolutely loved this story. Agel’s story showcases the power of small changes adding up, keeping things simple, progress is non-linear, and the oft-quoted reminder that we overestimate what we can do in a day and underestimate what we can do in a year.
2. Success with Health and Well-Being Coaching Codes
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) successfully applied to the American Medical Association for new Health and Well-being Coaching Category III Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes.
“Coaching is the lynchpin of the transformational model,” Dr. Kavitha Reddy, who led the VA team that made the AMA application, said in a press announcement.
I’m (Rachel) beyond ecstatic about this progression for the health coaching world!
“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.”
